Andrea Giraldo
Andrea Giraldo is the president and co-founder of Giraldo Farms, a woman-owned brand of freeze-dried, 100% Colombian Arabica instant coffee. In 2004 she founded A&G Trading Corp., a Pearl River, New York, company that imports and distributes specialty foods.
Her story
Andrea was born in Manhattan and grew up in Orangeburg, New York, with frequent trips to see family in Colombia. She earned an associate's degree in advertising and graphic design at Parsons in New York City. In 1990 she moved to Colombia, where she spent 12 years working in sales and marketing. Her family returned to the U.S. in 2002.
She and her husband, who has a background in coffee, started Giraldo Farms as a tribute to the coffee country they came from. Andrea sold the first jars store by store across New York City, starting her days at 6am. Read her origin story.
